Emma
Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson born to British lawyers Jacqueline Luesby & Chris Watson in Paris, France. When she was just five years old her family moved to Oxfordshire and attended her first Dragon School. Emma was six years old when she made the decision to make it as an actress. She trained for several years in Stagecoach Theatre Arts, a full-time school of theatre in Oxford where she was taught singing and acting. As a ten year old Emma was a participant in multiple Stagecoach productions and school productions. In 1999 casting began for Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (2001) the movie adaptation of British author J.K. Rowling's bestselling novel. Casting agents stumbled upon Emma by way of her Oxford Theatre teacher. After eight continuous auditions, director David Heyman told Emma and fellow applicants Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint they were cast as the three main characters Hermione Granger Harry Potter and Ron Weasley. Emma's debut on the big screen came in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone that was released in the year 2001. The film was also the most successful film in 2001. The first weekday and weekend sales were record-breaking. Critics praised the film and the performances of the three acclaimed young actors. The Daily Telegraph, a frequently read British publication, has praised Emma for her exceptional performance. Emma was awarded the Young Artist Award as the Most Outstanding Young Actress in a Feature Film. Later, she was recognized five times in recognition of her part in the film.
